I’ve published this movie because it shows the transformative effect of the time of year and the weather on the scenes I paint. Many of the trees that feature in these paintings are surrounded by water where before they were on the river bank. The River Frome is a few feet wider than it normally is and flowing much faster.
Not as extreme as the flooding further north in the country the swollen torrent can be regarded as interesting rather than a disaster. I’m surprised that there have been no victims among the trees that cling tenuously the steep slopes of the valley.
